reflexblue Review of 2020

22 December 2020

As we round off what feels like the longest year of all time, we are looking back on what has been a HUGE year for reflexblue and our clients.

With the UK heading into lockdown back in March, reflexblue left our home on West George Street and our entire team began working remotely, and for many of our staff, balancing work with becoming a PE, Maths, English and Art teacher. Working from home, as everyone will know this year, brings challenges for individuals and a team, however our daily 9am Zoom Calls, quizzes and work nights IN helped everyone stay motivated and in touch no matter where we were working from.

When lockdown hit the UK in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, we were approached by former Scotland striker Kris Boyd and West Ham’s Robert Snodgrass to produce their sport and mental health podcast, ‘The Lockdown Tactics’. Across 20 episodes, we not only recorded, edited and uploaded podcasts with the likes of Tyson Fury, Darren Fletcher, Jamie Redknapp and more, but also produced all the branding, social media content and strategy for the show.

At the start of 2020, our Creative Director Scott Miller began work on rebranding the reflexblue look and logo. The Coronavirus pandemic was the best time for us to look at ourselves to develop this exciting new face for our brand that would run through all digital and physical elements of our business, from our social media and website to business cards and art on our office walls. Find out more about rebrand here.

One of the biggest business and marketing trends of 2020 was the need for companies to take their business and experience online, and nowhere was this more essential than in the live events industry. Back in August, reflexblue announced we were the new digital media partners of Rangers FC official events company, 5 Stars. Our team delivers a full digital programme that takes the experience of a 5 Stars event online, including an engagement-focused social media strategy, live and interactive podcasts, video content, website and a new subscription-based app.

This year hasn’t just been about working with a new range of clients, we have also been working hard on exciting projects with some of our longstanding clients, including new Halloween and Christmas campaigns for M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park, installing Media Players, an interactive screen for use in development sales offices, at Taylor Wimpey developments across the UK, a new website for GDL and continuing our design work with CCG, providing a brochure and social media collateral for their new range of zero carbon homes, ‘Net Zero’

2020, for people and for businesses, was a year like no other and as we look towards the new year, the team are getting ready for everything 2021 has in store for reflexblue and the world.
