How to stay motivated when WORKING FROM HOME!

11 January 2021

Working from home became the norm in 2020 with dining tables replacing office desks and the commute to work becoming a walk along the hallway. One of the biggest challenges of this new way of working is staying motivated, however the reflexblue team has FIVE tips to stay motivated while home working.

MAKE SPACE

Make a spare room or spare corner of a room YOUR place to work. Having this space creates a great working environment away from the distractions you may have sitting down on the sofa with your laptop or even sitting up in bed, however tempting it may be.

DRESS FOR WORK

While it may be tempting to have a PJ day while at home, getting dressed for a normal working day can massively improve motivation and productivity, helping you tackle the day ahead.

KEEP IN TOUCH

Working from home can sometimes feel like working alone, so it is very important to keep in touch with your team. Not only will this help combat feelings of isolation while being at home, it also aids productivity and allows work to continue as normal. At reflexblue, our daily morning video calls help us to catch up with each other and keep on top of any ongoing work.

GET ACTIVE

A GREAT way to get outside or blow off steam before, during or after a busy day is to get some exercise. This helps break up your day while sitting behind your desk at home and whether you pick a run, cycle, home HIIT workout or a walk, you’ll be feeling good all day.

REWARD YOURSELF

Working to a deadline is a great way to stay motivated, especially if you reward yourself for this achievement. It can be as simple as rewarding yourself with a coffee break, a nice dinner or a stroll in the park. Whatever you think will help push you to hit a deadline or complete a task, reward yourself with that.
